BPLO upgrades Tax Revenue, Collection System

Nabunturan, Compostela Valley-Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) finally upgraded tax collection computerization program to Enhanced Tax Revenue and Collection System (ETRACS) version 2.5 that will be implemented starting 2017.

The current program, ETRACS version 1.8, which started since 2009 through the Australian aid, is upgraded into a more efficient computerization system on the issuance of business permit that is also capable of generating modified reports.

Licensing Officer III Gilda Aldaya, together with BPLO staff, attended an orientation on the management of ETRACS version 2.5 last October 4-8, 2016 at the Rameses System Office in Cebu City.

The 2.5 version “can suffice to the unified form” mandated by the joint memorandum circular of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) that enjoins Local Government Units to push for computerization, Licensing Inspector Roselle Ventura said.

In this mandate, DTI and DILG streamline Business Permit and Licensing System (BPLS) in LGUs, including adopting a unified form, reducing the number of signatories, limiting the number of steps in securing permits and licenses, and reducing processing time through automation.

BPLO also conducted a BPLS Taxpayer’s Orientation in the 28 barangays of Nabunturan to help establishment owners and operators in the municipality compliant to local and national government’s regulations and policies. Marga Melendres/TIS Nabunturan
