LGU Nabunturan representatives join the Local Climate Change Action Plan Orientation and Workshop held at Sequoia Hotel, Quezon City last January 25-27, 2017 to increase knowledge and capacity development for integrated climate change adaptation, disaster risk and vulnerability reduction at the local community level that will be concretized through a Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP).
LCCAP shared vision is an Enhanced Transformative Framework of resiliency in local communities through a capacity development program for the empowerment to mitigate, prepare, respond, recover, and adapt to climate change and related disasters.
An approved LCCAP is the primary output of the workshop to equip local government units in preparation for climate change adaptation in the future.
One of LCCAP secondary purpose is to provide LGUs access to people’s survival fund from the Office of the President to aid in funding Climate Change related programs, Ms. Jennifer Echavez, Administrative Officer V, revealed in an interview.
The conduct of activity was spearheaded by Local Climate Change Adaptation for Development, in partnership with the Office of the President, Climate Change Commission, League of Municipalities of the Philippines, City Government of Legazpi, and Philippine Information Agency.
