Nabunturan, Compostela Valley – Local government unit (LGU) of Nabunturan marks the 119th Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 12, 2017 at the Municipal Hall through a ceremonial changing of flag led by Mayor Chelita C. Amatong, Vice Mayor Rodel Balili, and Sangguniang Bayan members.

LGU officials and employees, and personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Philippine National Police (PNP) altogether sing the “Lupang Hinirang” and recited the “Panunumpa sa Watawat” during the flag raising ceremony.

The commemoration of the historic event is grace with the presence of Compostela Valley Police Provincial Director PSSUPT. Marvin Manuel P. Pepino, Ll.b, MA., who served as resource speaker during the program.

Hawak kamay tayo upang makamtan ang tunay na kapayapaan,” PSSUPT. Pepino says in his speech.

Mayor Amatong conveys the same message and thanks the military and police personnel for continually fighting for peace, especially in Marawi City.

The simultaneous ceremonies nationwide anchor the theme “Kalayaan 2017: Pagbabagong Sama-samang Balikatin.”
