Nabunturan unites with 10 other municipalities in Compostela Valley in celebration of the 10th Bulawan Festival and 19th Founding Anniversary with a theme “One Comval. One Vision.”

The five-day celebration kicked off last March 4 with a motorcade and float parade around the main streets of Nabunturan, featuring the floats representing the bountiful harvest from each municipality.

The opening day was also graced by the presence of Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and National Youth Commission (NYC) Chair Aiza Seguerra.

As fun-filled events and competition dotted the celebration, Nabunturanons bagged several wins, bringing pride to the town.

Drum and Bugle Corps from Manat National High School also raised the banner of Nabunturan as they landed on the second spot during the Kasikas sa Kapitolyo last March 5.

Tourism Office of Nabunturan staff Jun Art Arsenio and Michael Lloyd Persigas grabbed the 3rd prize in the short film competition featuring the IP Education theme song composed and interpreted by a Nabunturanon artist.

Beauty and charm of Nabunturan Festival Queen Ericka Jean Lumen caught the hearts of the jury as she won Most Photogenic during the Search for Bulawan Festival Queen.

Adding to the number of recognitions is the Best in Production Design award given to the Nabunturan Comprehensive High School during the Bulawanong Pasundayag sa Kadalanan competition.

Bulawan Festival or the Festival of Gold is a distinct celebration of thanksgiving, a unified government, sustained good harvests, abundant resources and a promise of a golden future.
