With the utmost support from the Local Government of Nabunturan, headed by Mayor Chelita “Chickay” Amatong, municipal contingents won in several events in the recently concluded 11th Bulawan Festival and 20th Founding Anniversary of Compostela Valley Province celebration last March 4-8, 2018.
Nabunturanons could not be any prouder after the proclamation of winners in the major events in the said festivity, particularly in the Lanog sa Kapitolyo High School category, wherein Manat National High School bagged the championship.
They also received several special awards, including best in production design, best in synchronization music and choreography, best majorettes, and best band leader.
Young as they may seem but Magsaysay Elementary School Drum and Bugle Corps also showed what they got in the Elementary Division of the same contest, wherein they land on the third spot.
Empowered women of Nabunturan also topped in the Bulawanong Kababaihan. Rosalie M. Santiago won as champion in the Top Model Competition, while Lea Abigail Tampos-Salvo finished as first runner-up during the Project Accessory Contest.
Speaking of which, another woman of finesse, wit, and beauty showed Compostela Valley the ability of a Nabunturan maiden—Goldy Bless Esmeralda. She captured the heart of the people with her charm and finished as second runner-up in the Bulawan Festival Queen pageant.
On the other event, Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School fired up the stage as they theatrically danced a reimagined story of St. Therese during the Bulawanong Pasundayag. With colorful props and synchronized movements, they managed to succeed as first placer with an award in best production design.
Creativity of the youth screamed louder this year as Nabunturan 4Ks members won as second runner-up in the Recyclo-Motion Fashion Competition under the Bulawanong Kabatan-onan. Joffrey Baclaan modeled the gown made of recycled materials, which was designed by Jeremy Impas and Mark Jones Nobleza. For the most awaited event Garbo Comvalenyo, our representative Ferry Angellie Borila made the municipality proud after her top 5 finish. The winning representatives were given recognition during the LGU convocation ceremony last March 12, 2018.
