Concluding the 61st Araw ng Nabunturan with a Bang

The citizens of Nabunturan together with different local government units, agencies, and organizations danced their way to a healthy living during the Zumba exercise in the Municipal Gym at 4 am of July 21, 2018.

After the invigorating exercise, an opening program to formally start the 61st Araw ng Nabunturan commenced in the same place. Simultaneous activities lined up on the first day to bring fun, knowledge, and excitement to the people.

As the heart of the valley embarks the end of the festivities for the 61st Araw ng Nabunturan, engaging activities like Youth Night and Unity night; beauty and health care services like nail care, hair care, and free medical check-up; and government services like passporting and jobs fair benefited the citizens of Nabunturan.

On the eve of July 22, Youth Night, organized by the Environment Resources Section commenced with two exhilarating events: Battle of the Bands and Cosplay competition. The Battle of the Bands advocate for the preservation of mother nature and showcases the talents of young Nabunturanons. In this event the Rebulto band bagged the grand prize and Best Composition Award.

Further, in the Cosplay competition, Charmierose Villarta (Ice Drake Savannah) from Brgy. Matilo championed the event, while, Mel Majid Evangelio (Haseo) from Poblacion, won 1st place and Joemar Delica (Sword Master), also from Poblacion won 2nd place.

Celebrating the Founding Day program on the 23rd of July, the event formally started with an early mass in the Municipal grounds, followed by a colorful float parade.

The Founding Day program was attended by prominent figures in the municipal and provincial government level, heads and staffs from private and public institutions, organizations, agencies, and representatives from various barangays.

One of the highlights of the occasion is the flamboyant float competition where Manat National High School won 1st place, followed by Barangay Mainit who won 2nd place and Nabunturan Central Warehouse Club who won 3rd place.

Simultaneous to the event is the free medical services in the Municipal Health Center, beauty and health care in the Municipal building, and anti-rabies dog vaccination, jobs fair and passporting in Gaisano Grand Nabunturan.

Spearheaded by Nabunturan Public Employment Services Office, the Job fair event accommodated 214 applicants. Over 5,098 job vacancies were solicited and about 15 local companies and manpower agencies were present in the said event. On one hand, the passporting activity opened 150 slots to interested individuals who plans to travel or work abroad.

Moreover, 117 individuals were pampered during the hair and nail care event. While the Municipal Health Office catered about 132 individuals who were given free Random Blood Sugar tests (RBS), 76 free consultations, and 35 dental check-ups. Further, the Municipal Agriculture Office injected a total of 160 dogs with Anti-Rabies vaccine.

The event successfully ended with a sidesplitting, cheek-aching Unity Night featuring Lady Boys and Crazy Duo, sponsored by Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy. Amazing performances were also prepared by the talented DMX Comvalenyos, Garbo Comvalenyos, and JC beat who exhibited great talents.
