The Municipal Linggo ng Kabataan, with the collaborative effort of Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation (SKMF) and Municipal Youth Development Council (MYDC), commenced on August 18, 2018 in the Municipal Covered Court anchoring the theme Safe Spaces for Youth.
As mandated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) under Section 30 of the Republic Act No. 10742 of the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015, the said activity engaged the youth to take part in a beneficial and holistic activities aimed for their social growth and development.
SB SKMF President/MYDC Chairman James Carlo Tanduyan warmly welcomed the youth participants with encouraging words. Fun-filled activities were also stored for them to enjoy and participate in, like the Recyclo Model Challenge, Larong Pinoy, and mind games.
A lecture on HIV Awareness conducted by Raffy Ardemil enlightened the participants about the detrimental effects of unprotected and irresponsible intercourse. The speaker also shared some pieces of advice to the listeners and advocates that the young generation should be more apprehensive and responsible.
On one hand, Mr. Rolan Ryan Dagohoy gave an informative and comprehensive insight about the youth and peer pressure.
In the afternoon, everyone was excited for the Recyclo Model Challenge. Enthralling the participants and judges of the event, the models allured the watchers in their elaborate and eco-friendly gowns made from plastic materials. Adding glamor to the dress were the decorative frills and stylish cuts that are modern in style and pleasing to look at.
The event was ended successfully with a rousing closing remarks by Hon. Raul C. Luntao, Jr, SKMF Vice President.
