BPLO Conducts Orientation for Tricycle Drivers and Operators

The Municipality of Nabunturan headed by Mayor Chelita C. Amatong, through the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), conducted an Orientation on National and Local Laws for the Motorized Tricycle For Hire at the Municipal Gymnasium, Public Market, Poblacion, Nabunturan on August 23, 2018.

Over 775 drivers and operators out of 826 expected took part in the said orientation. Land Transportation Office-ComVal (LTO-ComVal) Provincial Chief, Ms. Ebita O. Rodriguez; PNP Highway Patrol Group Provincial Chief, PSI Gerry A. Galan; Nabunturan Police Station Chief of Police, PSI Irish Hezron F. Parangan; BPLO Licensing Officer III, Ms. Gilda F. Aldaya; and Municipal Health Office and Anti-Smoking Task Force Action Officer, Dr. Danielo O. Robillos discussed different laws and Memorandum Ordinances (MOs) to enlighten and educate the drivers and operators.

As such, pertinent laws like RA Number 4136 (or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code), RA No. 6539 and RA No. 10883 (or the Anti-Carnapping Act), Municipal Ordinance No. 2014-02 (or the New Traffic Citation Ticket), Municipal Ordinance No. 2011-04 (or the MTFRB Creation and Collection of Fees), and the Municipal Ordinance No. 2017-01 (or the Comprehensive Anti-Smoking Ordinance), were thoroughly covered.

Ms. Aldaya of BPLO shared that, “it is to ensure that the tricycle drivers and operators of Nabunturan have a common knowledge on the apprehensions done by different agencies like PNP Highway Patrol Group”. She also stressed that the orientation aims to inform them about the existing laws and ordinances and their roles and responsibilities as drivers and operators.

SB Members’ Hon. Romeo B. Clarin, Hon. Conie B. Caballero and Hon. Francis T. Secuya also graced the event.
