The Provincial Government of Compostela Valley, in cooperation with the local government unit of Nabunturan, Municipal Council of Women, Municipal Agricultural Office (MAGRO), and Department of Education launches Liwanag ng Pamilya Program (LPP) on September 20, 2018 in the Municipal Covered Court.
The rationale of LPP was presented by the Chairwoman of the Provincial Women Development Council, Ms. Sholai Lim, who gave a thorough background of the project and its objectives in alleviating poverty and impoverishment.
In line with the goals of the province to achieve zero number of underprivileged and malnourished children, especially those in far-flung areas; the provincial local government unit of ComVal and the municipal local government unit of Nabunturan are hand-in-hand to help the people through this program.
It was by providing and distributing assorted seedlings for vegetable planting, growing, and gardening to different schools and barangays, which will then be used as a source for feeding programs and other activities.
As such, all 28 barangays, 34 elementary schools, and few secondary schools in the municipality were given the vegetable seeds through Ms. Florlinda G. Denopol, Public School District Supervisor.
The beneficiaries will be properly trained and monitored by the Municipal Agricultural Office (MAGRO), in growing the seedlings to thoroughly assess the effectivity, continuity, and sustainability of the program.
