Barangay poblacion was created during the time of late President Carlos P. Garcia, NAbunturan was separated from compostela in the year 1957, 23rd day of July through the R.A 2038.
The first inhabitant of Barangay Poblacion were Lumads and Mansakas. At the present, the total number of households in the Poblacion per COPAR survey result is 3,042 with a total population of 14,357. The gross population density per hectare is 20.87.
